Derek Wright is an Underwriter in the Property department at SSRU and has been with the company since 2024.

Derek is responsible for the maintenance and growth of the Property book. Derek has more than 6 years of experience in the insurance industry, previously working at a large brokerage as a Commercial Lines Broker and as a TPA Claims Examiner on the SSRU account at an insurance services firm.

Derek has a BA (Hons) from Wilfred Laurier University and holds CAIB and RIBO designations.

In his spare time, Derek enjoys playing hockey, golfing, fishing, and watching soccer and Formula 1 Racing.  Aside from being an avid sports fan, Derek enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
